MARION, Ind. – The Indianapolis volleyball squad continued its winning ways in ’06 as it went on the road to defeat Indiana Wesleyan in five games (25-30, 30-16, 30-27, 28-30, 15-9). The Hounds now sport a 15-2 record in seventeen games played, their best start through five matches since 1999.
Many Greyhounds contributed to the win as five players reached double-digits in kills. It was sophomore
Karla Mast, however, that made the biggest impact statistically. Mast led the Hounds with 17 kills and a team season-high 26 digs.
Sophomore
Beth Robbins also recorded a double-double with 46 assists and 10 scoops while senior
Lynne Ross added 14 kills and six blocks.
UIndy (5-0) will remain on the road as it travels to Ashland, Ohio this weekend to compete in the 8-team Ashland Invitational. The Hounds will face defending DII national champ and preseason No. 1 Grand Valley State in the opening match at noon on Sep. 1.
